Entrepreneurship featuring Diana Lazier: Does money or passion do everything?

Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Alibaba; they were all dreams that started in the minds and hands of one person and now are worth more than we could spend in a lifetime. Truly dreams do come true. The clearer, the more willing to learn (and fail) you are, well the sky’s the limit!

And we all have dreams, powered by our imagination and drive for change. Some are more personal than others, like marriage and children – take an extra step that entrepreneurs don’t worry about until a bit later on their journey; finding the right person(s) to partner and build with.

On every entrepreneurial journey comes a time when you need to hand over a section o the work to another capable individual to help you realize your dreams further. Some entrepreneurs are great at creating, but not growing, others are great at scaling but can’t innovate. Of course, when you’re a solopreneur, you find yourself having to be great at many things at once. But at some point, to increase efficiency, you simply must give others more qualified and specialized individuals the roles to make the load easier to do what you do best for the business. When we get there, how do we know how to build the best team?

Diana Lazier Founder of the Tanzania Consumer Choice Awards, on the had this to say on our podcast episode “Engage people who are passionate…when they have passion, they have something to love other than the money.” So, we have our first tip in building a strong, cohesive team. But what are some others?

  • Utilize the resources around you. e.g. using your home as office space, working with experts in your network (friends) whom you can trust.
  • Communicate your vision and challenges openly and honestly, so the team you are assembling can make the conscious choice to trust the process with you

You need to listen to the rest and get the most out of it! Guaranteed to give you so much insight into what you should be looking to do also!
